About the Club:
Sawtell FC was established in 1968 and in 1974 formed one of the regions first women’s teams. Since then the club has grown to be the largest club in the North Coast Football region. The club has a strong reputation for developing high quality junior and senior talent and have had several players progress to senior national team level. In 2020, Sawtell FC was awarded five stars under the National Club Development Program and prides itself on being a diverse and inclusive club where players of any level can come and share a love of the game.
Head Coach Joe Skrtic
Joe Skrtic trained with the AIS before playing in the NSW State League for Canberra Metro/Canberra Croatia. He has overseas experience with the First Grade squad at NK Zagreb and NK Radnik in Croatia. He played First Grade for Sawtell FC and coached several title winning NPL teams before becoming Sawtell FC assistant coach in 2020 and CPL head coach in 2021.
Captain Duncan Couper
Duncan Couper started his junior years at Sawtell FC before captaining several NPL squads and representing Northern NSW at the Australian Youth Championships. This year as Sawtell’s captain he leads a strong mix of experienced and younger players who are determined to be contenders for the CPL title.
