Top two sides to meet in the final round

The top two sides of the inaugural Coastal League One Women season face off in a potential grand final preview this weekend, as the Urunga Raiders play host to the Boambee Eagles in the final round of the season.

The Raiders will look to make it a perfect season with a 16th straight win from as many games, while the Eagles will try to become the first team to take points from this season’s premiers, and continue their own four match winning streak.

Both sides were successful last round, with the Raiders 4-1 winners against the Macleay Valley Rangers, and the Eagles 7-0 victors against the Sawtell Scorpions.

The Raiders were 4-2 winners the last time they played.

The Coffs City United Lionesses and the Macleay Valley Rangers will play off for third spot on the ladder in their final round fixture at Forsyth Park.

The Rangers sit one point clear of the Lionesses in third spot, with a win clinching third spot on the ladder heading into the finals series.

Both sides will look to bounce back from last start losses, with the Lionesses coming off a 2-1 loss to the Boambee Eagles in a mid-week catch up game, while the Rangers had a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Urunga Raiders in Round 19.

The two sides have a win against each other as well as a draw in their three meetings this season, with the Rangers 3-0 winners the last time they played.
