THE Urunga Raiders and Boambee Eagles have shown why they sit one and two on the ladder heading into finals, with both sides winning in the penultimate round of the Coastal League One Women season.
The Urunga Raiders continued their perfect season, winning their 15th match in a row with a 4-1 victory against the Macleay Valley Rangers at Rangers Park.
The Boambee Eagles produced a dominant performance in a 7-0 victory against the Sawtell Scorpions at Ayrshire Park, which was their third win in a row and eighth for the season.
The Eagles now take on the Coffs City United Lioness in a catch-up game tonight at Forsyth Park, in what shapes to be a tight affair if prior meetings are anything to go by.
The two teams have had some close encounters this season, with the Eagles winning 3-2 in their last match, and both sides sharing the points in a 5-5 draw prior to that.
Their first meeting of the season was a 1-0 victory to the Eagles.
The Lionesses are coming off the bye in Round 19.
