Bellingen FC are one of a number of teams fighting for a finals spot in what promises to be a fascinating finish to the Coastal Premier League season.
Bellingen FC are trying to qualify for the finals series in their debut season in the Coastal Premier League.
After starting the season entrenched in the top 4, the new kids on the block have had a tough second half to the season which sees them currently sit in ninth spot on the ladder.
But all hope is not lost for the Bellingen side, as they sit five points outside the top six with three matches remaining.
Bellingen FC now face a must-win game this weekend, as they host the fourth placed Sawtell Scorpions on Saturday afternoon.
Bellingen will look to bounce back from a tough weekend in which they lost twice to fellow finals aspirant Port United.
With just three games left in their season, Bellingen FC coach Henry Gale said every game was now a must win starting with the Scorpions this weekend.
“Every game now is like a Cup final for us, and Sawtell is a huge game for us,” he said.
“They have been in good form, and we are under no illusions that it will be an easy game.
“They will bring their A-game as they are also going for a finals spot, and we’ll bring ours too.”
Gale’s side was keen to respond after a disappointing weekend against Port United.
“We’ve been playing some decent football, we just haven’t been getting goals and we’ve leaked some at the back,” he said.
“We were up 1-0 against Port United, but we couldn’t fight it out which took the wind out of our sails,” he said.
“To not come away with any points in the two games against Port was disappointing, but the boys are now all keen to take on Sawtell in what will be a big encounter.”
