THE top two teams on the Coastal League One Women ladder are at home this weekend, as the season heads towards its finals series in September.
The ladder leading Urunga Raiders host the Sawtell Scorpions, while the second-placed Boambee Eagles take on the Coffs City United Lionesses at Ayrshire Park.
The Urunga Raiders will look to keep their perfect winning record intact, while the Sawtell Scorpions will try to become the first team to take points off the ladder leaders this season.
The Raiders are coming off a 3-0 victory at home against the Coffs City United Lionesses, while the Scorpions shared the points with the Macleay Valley Rangers in a 0-0 draw at Rangers Park.
The two sides have been at the opposite ends of the spectrum this season, with the Raiders sitting unbeaten at the top of the ladder while the Scorpions have been building towards their first win of the season with recent draws against the Lionesses and Rangers.
The Raiders were utterly dominant in a 14-0 win the last time the two clubs met.
The Boambee Eagles host the Coffs City United Lionesses in Round 17, with both clubs coming off last start losses to the Urunga Raiders.
The two teams shared the points in a goal fest the last time they met which ended in a 5-5 draw.
The Eagles sit in second spot on the ladder with the Lionesses fourth, as the two teams play off in a crucial game which could decide second spot at the end of the season with just 5 points separating the teams.
