THE two best sides so far of the inaugural Coastal League One Women season are set to play off this weekend, when the Urunga Raiders host the Boambee Eagles on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders sit undefeated at the top of the ladder, while the Eagles have stormed up the ladder in recent weeks to second spot.
The Eagles are coming off a dominant 10-0 victory against the Sawtell Scorpions.
Bombers coach Neil Witherdin was looking forward to the challenge of playing against the ladder leaders.
“Urunga is playing really good football at the moment, and we know we’re off the pace compared to them,” he said.
“With Urunga, its going to be a battle, as they are such a good side.”
The Raiders were victorious the last time the two teams met with a 3-1 win.
The Coffs City United Lionesses hit the road for Round 15 when they travel to Kempsey to take on the Macleay Valley Rangers.
Both sides had last week off, with the Lionesses coming off the bye while the Rangers scheduled match against the Raiders was postponed.
The Lionesses were 2-1 winners the last time the two teams met.
The Sawtell Scorpions have the bye in Round 15.
