CLO Women Preview

THE Coastal League One Women season continues this weekend with matches scheduled for CFC Synethtics and Kempsey.

The Sawtell Scorpions host the Boambee Eagles at CFC Synthetics on Saturday at 3.30 pm in Round 15.

The Scorpions are coming off a 1-1 draw against the Coffs City United Lionesses, while the Boambee Eagles accounted for the Macleay Valley Rangers with a 3-0 win last weekend.

The Eagles took the honours the last time they played the Scorpions with a 6-1 victory.

Eagles coach Neil Witherdin said it would be a good test against the Scorpions.

“It will be a good game, as they had a good result against Coffs United and they have been building this season,” he said.

“They will be buoyed by their draw and we will be buoyed by us beating a good side in the Rangers.”

Round 15 also sees the Urunga Raiders take on the Macleay Valley Rangers in Kempsey at Rangers Park at 5 pm Saturday.

The Raiders are coming off their Women’s State Community Plate win at the Women’s State Cup as well as a bye last weekend, while the Rangers will look to bounce back at home after a 3-0 loss to the Eagles.

The Raiders were 3-0 victors the last time the two sides met.
