THE Coffs Coast Tigers are currently on a hot streak.
The Tigers have won their past six matches which has seen them storm up to second spot on the Coastal Premier League ladder.
The Tigers sit eight points clear of third placed Bellingen FC, and on current form look to be the biggest premiership rivals to the undefeated Coffs City United Lions.
Tigers coach Luke Stow explained the big key to his side’s recent winning run.
“Probably starting to focus on how we want to play, and applying what we’ve been working on and the players listening more,” he said.
Stow said his side had a renewed focus on the defensive side of the game.
“We’ve been working harder in defence than in attack, and I’m more focused on keeping a team to nil than how many goals we score,” he said.
“We’ve got the talent to score goals, but its about doing the little things defensively like marking your man.
“We’re concentrating on it more recently, and I’ve definitely noticed the improvement especially in the last two weeks.”
The Tigers will go for seven wins in a row when they take on the Port Saints this Saturday night at the Coffs Football Centre Synthetics.
