Coastal League One Women

THE Coastal League One Women season returns to action this weekend after having a week off over the June long weekend.

Coffs City United Lionesses host the Macleay Valley Rangers at Forsyth Park on Saturday afternoon, with the winner going to second spot on the ladder.

A draw from either side will also see that side go to second, with the Rangers just one point behind the Lionesses and having a superior goal difference.

Coffs City United president Brett Hodgekiss expects to host a Rangers side which would be hell bent on reversing the result from the last time the two teams played.

“We expect the game to be again very physical, with the Macleay Valley Rangers coming out ready to reverse the result of our last game,” he said.

The Lionesses came away with a 2-1 win the last time they played the Rangers in Kempsey.

Round 10 sees 2021 premiers the Boambee Eagles host the 2020 premiers Urunga Raiders at Ayrshire Park on Saturday afternoon.
The ladder leading Raiders will look to win their sixth straight game to start the season, while the Eagles are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Macleay Valley Rangers.

The Raiders were 4-2 victors the last time they met this season.

The Sawtell Scorpions have the bye in Round 10.
