Long Weekend – CPL Football

Round 11 features North Coast Football teams playing off against each other, with two of these matches on the Queen’s Birthday this Monday afternoon.

The Northern Storm will look to rise up the table with a third win of the season, when they host the third-placed Coffs Coast Tigers at Korora.

The Tigers are coming off a 4-0 win against the Boambee Bombers, while the Storm will look to respond at home after a 5-2 loss to Port United.

After starting the year in the top four, the Boambee Bombers will look to get its season up and running when it hosts Bellingen FC on Monday afternoon.

Bellingen sit in second spot on the ladder in their inaugural CPL season, and are coming off a 2-1 win away from home against Southern United.

Round 11 got underway on Tuesday night with Football Mid North Coast teams playing off against each other, which continues this Monday with the Macleay Valley Rangers hosting Southern United, while Port United host the Kempsey Saints.

Coffs City United Lions host the Sawtell Scorpions next Wednesday night at Forsyth Park.

The Lions are undefeated at the top of the ladder after winning their first eight games of the season, and have the invaluable experience and belief after winning the last two CPL minor premierships.

The Scorpions are in fourth spot with four wins, with the young side the big improvers this season having already won twice as many games as they did last year.

Both sides are coming off wins at home in Round 10, with the Lions beating the Macleay Valley Rangers 4-0 and the Scorpions accounting for the Port Saints 5-2.
