The URUNGA Raiders and Coffs City Lionesses face off in a top of the table showdown this weekend, during Round 6 of the Coastal League One Women season.
Both sides head into the early season blockbuster in fine form.
The Raiders have made a strong start to the season with three straight wins, while the Lionesses are on a winning streak of their own having won their past two matches before having last weekend off with the bye.
The two clubs last met in the opening round in which the Raiders took the honours winning 3-2.
Lionesses captain Jordan Maddalena was looking forward to the challenge of taking on the ladder leaders.
“Urunga will be tough, they seem to hold the benchmark for football over the recent years, but we have held our own against them a few times and are looking forward to being a top competitor for them this season,” she said.
Sawtell Scorpions head to Kempsey to take on the Macleay Valley Rangers in a vital early season match as both sides try to kickstart their season.
The Scorpions and Rangers will be out for their first win of the season as they both look to halt two-game losing streaks.
The two sides shared the points the last time they met in a 0-0 draw in the opening round of the season.
The Boambee Eagles have the bye in Round 5.
