Preview – CLO Women Round 4

THE BOAMBEE Eagles and Sawtell Scorpions meet in a pivotal game while the Urunga Raiders head to Kempsey as the Coastal League One Women season continues this weekend.

Boambee Eagles host the Sawtell Scorpions in a vital early season match at Ayrshire Park, as both sides look for their first win of the season.

The Eagles and Scorpions have both had a draw and a loss in their first two matches of the season, with the Eagles coming off a 4-2 loss to the Urunga Raiders while the Scorpions are coming off a bye.

Early season ladder leaders Urunga Raiders hit the road to take on the Macleay Valley Rangers in Kempsey on Saturday night.

The Raiders have won their first two matches of the season, and will look to make it a hat trick when they face a Rangers side still searching for their first victory of 2022 after two draws and a loss.

Urunga Raiders coach Trevor Martin was looking forward to the challenge of facing a side he saw first-hand recently.

“We went and watched them play when we had the bye, and they had a 1-1 draw with Boambee and played well,” he said.

“We played them in the pre-season and they’ve improved since then, so we’re not taking it easy and going down there thinking we will win.”

The Coffs City United Lionesses have the bye in Round 4.
