Coastal League One Women – Round 4 preview

TWO powerhouse women’s teams are set to face off this weekend, as the Boambee Eagles and Urunga Raiders headline Round 4 of the Coastal League One Women competition.

The two clubs have been the standout women’s sides of North Coast Football over the past two years.

The Boambee Eagles finished as premiers in last year’s women’s first division, while the Urunga Raiders won the 2020 grand final with a 3-2 victory against the Eagles.

The Eagles opened their season with a 1-1 draw at home against the Macleay Valley Rangers, and will be out for their first win of the season in front of their home fans at Ayrshire Park, as they take on a Raiders side who last played in Round 1 in which they had a 3-2 win against the Coffs City United Lionesses.

The Lionesses hit the road for Round 4 when they travel to Kempsey to take on the Macleay Valley Rangers.

The Lionesses had their first win of the season last weekend, beating the Sawtell Scorpions 3-1 at Toormina Oval.

They take on a Rangers side who are playing at home for the first time this season, as Macleay Valley also look for their first win of the season after opening with two straight draws.

The Sawtell Scorpions have the bye in Round 4.
