THE latest Coastal Premier League season has continued with a huge weekend of football during its inaugural super round. All Round 2 matches were played at the Coffs Football Centre, after the intended venue Ce.x Coffs International Stadium was unavailable. Bellingen FC maintained top spot on the ladder with a 1-0 victory against the Northern Storm, their second win in a row to start their inaugural CPL season.
Coffs City United Lions started their season where they left off last year with a 4-0 win against new CPL team Southern United. Coffs Coast Tigers earnt their first win of the season with a 5-0 victory against the Sawtell Scorpions which kicked off the super round on Friday night. Round 2 also saw the Boambee Bombers in the winner’s circle for the first time this season with a 3-2 win against the Kempsey Saints in the final game of the super round. It was a good weekend for both Port Macquarie sides coming away with Round 2 wins.
Port United were dominant in their 10-0 demolition of the Taree Wildcats, while the Port Saints were also victorious with a 5-2 win against the Macleay Valley Rangers.
